hard to handle

this movie is terr-i-ble. it was in my netflix queue and so when i got the mail today i was excited. "zaz! a new movie." (of course i was expecting a new movie, so it's not like i jumped up and down.) then i put it in. it's french - bah. i'm not super into paying a lot of attention to an intense french film, so i turned on the subtitles. i sometimes think that it's easier to get away with bad acting if the movie is in a foreign language - you're so busy reading the subtitles, you don't notice facial expressions as much. but this was not the case. within five minutes of watching it, i realized that this was not even a B movie - more like a french H or I movie. the acting was horrible - completely overexaggerated and silly. the plot is that this kid meets a woman he falls in love with after 3 days (this happens a lot in france - i've never been comfortable with the idea) and then has to leave to go on a submarine without saying goodbye (he's in the army or navy or whichever sends people underwater). he resurfaces a month later and wants to find her, Zelda (seriously? come on), and has only one day left because he knows her vias expires the next day. par hazard (by chance) he hears a tv station, sort of jerry springer like, about a guy who puts loved ones in contact. so he goes to the tv station to get on the show and the woman asks him for his invitation. of course, he doesn't have one so he tries to sweet-talk her into letting him on the show. he explains how he lost his love and has to find her. "oh, that's sweet but no one here can help you. you need to wait a month for your invitation. but WE could go out. you definitely interest me." and he just stares at her. then she says, "what do you say? see you tonight?" and then he walks out of the building. i mean honestly. this is horrible. BUT i have a horrible horrible time turning bad movies off - i feel like its just rude or something. so back to the movie. the whole point of the movie is that the guy gets mistaken for a terrorist and the cops and everyone think he set off a bomb at the tv station. it's just bad. here is another example of how bad it is: about halfway through the movie, randomly, this woman walks up to a police officer and says "there's an artist in you. change professions. try sculpture." and then walks off. ???!! then the cop talks to his buddy about how he always wanted to be a sculptor!

so i'm even more torn now that i have described how bad this movie is. do i turn it off? the reason why i dont want to is because it was in my netflix queue. and there is always a reason why i have movies in my queue - either there's an actor i want to see or i read about it in an article. some logical reason and i feel if i quit watching it, i will never find out why i put it in my queue.

my other concern is this: it has not even 2 stars in netflix (i will probably give it one). and so i went through my queue (only 201, down considerably from my 300+ a few years ago) and there are quite a few movies with less than 3 stars. do i take them all out of my queue?? or do i waste time watching them. i'm a taurus so i'm indecisive. help me. qu'est-ce que je fais?? what do i do??

  5. 1) Talk about BAD movies... EVERYONE should rent "Paycheck". All I did was watch it and complain about how ridiculous it is. Every time it's on TV I think I watch it for a little bit just to get a good laugh at how bad it is.

    2) Take those movies off. Unless you've already found some that are 2 star that you actually like, I would take them off.
